We sat in silence
content to just listen to the quiet
and watch the rain gently puncture
the surface of the lake,
breathing in the peace
and shared solitude,
appreciating the magic
and wonder of it all,
gifting our souls with time
to savor the moment
before sharing what hearts share
when they feel safe,
the fears, the pain, the loss,
the sweetness, the hopes,
two hearts
listening to the quiet,
enfolded in nature's
warm embrace...
